Interview with Callie Moore, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I had been working in the restaurant industry for years and decided it was time to own my own business. I found this amazing place and bought it from the previous owner. I spent the next year renovating and updating to create what we have today.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: I think what makes us unique from other coffee shops is that we are a coffee shop that serves quality food as well as great coffee. We make most everything in our kitchen from scratch. In fact, starting in May we will be doing all our own baked goods on top of our full menu. We also believe strongly in community and supporting local business and people. Every two months we feature a local artist in the shop and have an art opening to support each artist. Europa has built a strong support and community around it.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: I like most that I have a family that I have created in the business. I love my employees and the community that we serve.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: I think the biggest challenge is keeping up to date with all the new coffee trends while staying true to our roots of simplicity.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Something people would be surprised to know about me is that outside of owning Europa, my husband and I own a ranch in Golden. I also teach yoga, am a clinical herbalist and health coach and a new mom. My life is full and I love that.
