Delivery decoy. Police were called March 18 to the 18700 block of East Baltic Place because a woman’s ex was in her apartment. The two recently broke up, and the man wanted to get some of his things, but the woman wouldn’t let him in. The man seemed to leave after a while, so the woman ordered a pizza. When she opened the door for the delivery guy, her ex barged in the house. He left before officers arrived.
Unprovoked door vandals. On March 17, someone used a red pen to write obscenities on a couple’s front door in the 400 block of South Victor Way. The unknown suspect also drew a hand with its middle finger up and threw raw eggs all over the door. The victims said they don’t have any enemies.
In through the window. A woman returned to her home in the 900 block of South Ivory Street for lunch March 17 and noticed that someone had broken in through an open window. Her laptop, PlayStation and iPad were all taken. There are no suspects.
License plate left at the scene. Security called police to Hoffman Heights Liquors, 728 N. Peoria St. because someone in a red truck was running over parking signs March 19. The suspects were gone when police arrived, but they lost their license plate on the ground near the damage.
Missing BMX bike. A man called police to his home in the 16200 block of East Stanford Place because someone stole his $300 BMX bike from his garage March 18. There are no suspects.
Stolen phone. A woman reported that her iPhone was stolen from outside her home in the 5400 block of South Granby Way March 18. There are no suspects.
