Parking lot rage. On March 22, a woman called Lakewood police after she had an altercation with another woman in the parking lot at Safeway, 11088 W. Jewell Ave. The woman said she had pulled into a parking space and was sending a text message when the woman returning to the car next to hers opened the door forcefully and hit her car. She did so two more times and the victim confronted the woman and exchanged words before the suspect drove off. The suspect also littered several items
Urinator refuses to sign. Lakewood police responded to an incident March 3 after a witness called to report a man lying down in a gulch and later urinating off a bridge in the 7000 block of West Colfax Avenue. When contacted by police, the suspect was uncooperative and cursed at the officer. He also refused to sign his summons, which was left in his backpack.
Rail line assault. On March 23, police responded to a call from a woman who was assaulted while riding the West Rail Line near the Lamar Street Station, 6363 W. 13th Ave. The woman told police she was riding the light rail when a woman she did not know approached her and punched her in the face. The suspect was identified by the victim and she then fled with another man. The two were apprehended after jumping several fences.Cigarette leads to summons. A police officer cited a man March 21 after he flicked a lit cigarette into the street and did not take steps to pick it up near the intersection of South Wadsworth Boulevard and West Jewell Avenue. The officer noted the extreme fire danger in the area when citing the suspect.
