Longmont police are investigating after a body was found Monday night at the scene of a fire involving a makeshift living space outside an electrical services building.

Cmdr. Joel Post declined on Tuesday to say whether the person lived in the structure — which police have described as a shed or “makeshift living area”— or had been an employee of AAA Electric, 24 S. Main St., the property where the body was found.

Police have not released any information about the person who died including gender or other identifying details.

A spokeswoman for the Boulder County Coroner’s Office said work is underway to identify the body and notify next-of-kin.
