A woman’s body was found Thursday in a wooded area just beyond a Walmart parking lot in Lakewood.
Employees of the Walmart, 440 Wadsworth Blvd., spotted the body at about 4 p.m. and called police, said Rob Albrets, a police department spokesman.
The woman is believed to have been in her 50s, Albrets said. Her identity was not released. It was not immediately clear how long the body had been in the spot.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide. Police, however, do not believe the public is in danger.
