Police are on the lookout for two people they believe broke into as many as 19 cars early Monday morning in The Meadows neighborhood of Castle Rock.

Officers responding to a trespass call around 3 a.m. along Springbriar Drive spotted two men fleeing the scene in what police describe as a stolen vehicle. Officers gave chase for a little while before backing off in the interest of public safety.

The men were last seen driving a maroon 2012 Cadillac SRX with Colorado license plates QMU-701. The vehicle was stolen from unincorporated Douglas County several days ago, authorities said.

Anyone with information can call Castle Rock Police at 303-663-6100.
