The Boulder County Coroner’s Office confirmed Friday that the body found in Longmont’s Golden Ponds was that of 19-year-old Aravind Elangovan, who had been missing for two weeks.

Elangovan was last seen March 31, when he left his home in the 1400 block of Harvard Street wearing a long, black wool coat, a long-sleeved, blue T-shirt and boxer shorts. He was not wearing pants or shoes, and did not have a vehicle, cellphone, wallet or ID, police say.

Police said the combination of the manner in which he left the house, the manner in which he was dressed and his mental impairment “(increased) Aravind’s risk to himself.”

His body was found Wednesday when people at Golden Ponds reported seeing a body in one of the ponds about 10 feet from the shore.
