High winds, rain and thunderstorms expected to blow into Denver early Thursday evening

Rain and thunderstorms are expected to begin early Thursday evening along the Front Range, according to forecasters.

The rain should start after 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation.

The high Thursday is expected to reach about 62 degrees. Winds could gust up to 30 mph, the weather service says.

The chance for rain increases to 70 percent on Friday. Late Friday night and early Saturday morning there’s a slight chance for snow as temperatures dip into the mid 30s, forecasters say. Little or no accumulation is expected.

The high temperature Saturday is expected to  be around 57 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-70s on Sunday as sunshine returns, forecasters predict.

Expect sunny skies and light breezes Monday when the high is expected to hit 71.

Rain could return Tuesday or Wednesday, the weather service says.
