People walk through Civic Center Park the morning after the 4/20 marijuana event was held at the park on April 21, 2017, in Denver. Organizers pointed out that they cleaned up the park later that day before the deadline set by their permit.

Re: April 25 editorial.

Your 4/20 editorial hit the nail on the head and spoke to and for the many Coloradans who supported legalization and now quietly tolerate the many ways in which cannabis is impacting the state — mostly for the worse, in my view.

If the pro-cannabis movement doesn’t quickly and forcefully get its act together to control the behavior of people like the cannabis promoters and users who turned the recent 4/20 rally into a joke and then a disgrace, the community’s tolerance will evaporate, and with it many of the privileges that those in the pro-cannabis movement now apparently take for granted.

Re: April 24 news story.

Oh, my!  Denver Mayor Michael Hancock is upset about the disrespect shown by the 4/20 participants.  Imagine that — from the elected leader of a city that routinely chooses to disrespect whichever law is currently unpopular or inconvenient. Come on, your honor, either start enforcing the laws and ordinances prohibiting public use, or shut up already.
