Broncos waive three players to make room for UDFA signings

The Broncos earlier this week, but they needed to make a few moves to fit them on their 90-man roster.

Denver waived defensive end Iosia Iosia, receiver Mekale McKay and long snapper Jeff Overbaugh on Thursday. The Broncos’ roster stands at 75 players following the Jamaal Charles signing and these three transactions.

Iosia, McKay and Overbaugh were Broncos futures signings in January. Iosia spent the final week of the 2016 season on the Broncos practice squad.

Denver will likely announce its official undrafted crop of free agents in the coming days. The list will include , Miami safety Jamal Carter and Pittsburgh nose tackle Tyrique Jarrett among others.

An undrafted free agent has made the Broncos 53-man roster in 12 of the last 13 seasons. Nose tackle Kyle Peko made it last season after a where he was initially told he would be cut.

Defensive end Bobby Richardson, who was waived to make room for , cleared waivers.
