A young man died early Saturday morning after suffering a gunshot wound Friday night.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 6:30 last night about a man with a gunshot wound on the 6900 block of South Newland Street, said Jenny Fulton, spokeswoman for Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to Littleton Adventist Hospital in Littleton.
“He was relatively young,” Fulton said Saturday morning.
The sheriff’s office could not release the name or age of the victim at this time. Fulton said there are no suspects, but they are now investigating an active homicide case.
“We have no reason to believe the public is in any danger,” she said.
