
Re: May 13 editorial; and “” May 12 Jon Caldara column.
I agree with The Denver Post that the 2017 legislature should be applauded for finding compromises that benefit the overall needs and interests of the state as a whole. Despite Jon Caldara’s dissing of Republican leaders who he claims sold out the small-government agenda, they in fact recognized that we are a state and country of competing interests.
Rarely does everybody get everything they want. But hopefully, with cooperation and reasonableness, we can achieve most of our ends by humane and progressive means. I’m pretty sure that’s what our Founding Fathers had in mind when they penned the Constitution.
