Your article concerning 21st century drivers and manual transmissions missed a couple important points. If you have a child who is obsessed with texting, then the car for them to drive is one with what used to be called a “standard” transmission. This is because it is essentially impossible to text and drive a manual transmission at the same time. A further advantage is that a car with a manual gear box will never be borrowed by your child’s friends because they will not know how to drive it.
