Speaking to graduates of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, President Donald Trump (speaking of himself) said, “No politician in history … has been treated worse or more unfairly.”
For those who’ve been treated worse, three names come immediately to mind: Richard III, Benedict Arnold and Aaron Burr. They were vilified in their lifetimes and beyond. And, Cleopatra of Egypt seems to have been treated more unfairly.
Was this the reaction he expected?

My daughter attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and unlike the other three much larger U.S. academies, Coast Guard applicants are selected on their merits, not by a Congress member’s letter of recommendation.
I would have expected President Donald Trump to praise the new graduates for their honor, dedication, loyalty to their country, and protecting their homeland, not tell him how the media had done him wrong.
