Re: May 20 news story.
The president¶¶Òõap visit to Saudi Arabia is described in your article as a “veritable lovefest†between the two governments. We are asked to believe that there will be a new era of Arab and Islamic-U.S. relations; and in the words of the Saudi foreign minister, the president¶¶Òõap “vision, strength and decisiveness†will bring peace between Israel and Palestine.
The only part of this “new partnership†that seems credible is that many of those jobs the president has promised us will be in manufacturing the $100 billion worth of weapons (the age-old answer to our problems) he plans to sell the Saudis.
And as a caveat, let¶¶Òõap ask those imprisoned in Saudi Arabia for criticizing the government, along with the women, if they see the light in all this.
