
As the Broncos prepare for a new season with a new coaching staff and new system, they are also planning to key members of their past.
This season the Broncos will honor a few of their former greats, starting with recently retired pass-rusher , who will be recognized during the team’s Week 2 game against the Cowboys in Denver. Ware in March and last month with Dallas to retire as a member of the Cowboys, with whom he spent the first nine seasons of his career.
On Nov. 19, during a Week 11 home game against the Bengals, the Broncos are tentatively scheduled to induct former coach Red Miller into the Ring of Fame and present former running back his Pro Football Hall of Fame ring.
Miller, who led the Broncos to their first appearance in 1977, was as the only member of the Ring’s Class of 2017. Miller, 89, is the Ring’s 32nd addition and only the second coach in the elite class.
Davis, the Broncos’ all-time leading rusher, was in February and will be enshrined in August. He joins (inducted in 2004), tackle Gary Zimmerman (2008), running back Floyd Little (2010) and tight end Shannon Sharpe (2011) on the shortlist of Broncos in the Hall.
