Coroner identifies man found dead near Maroon Bells

He was found about 7 a.m. Saturday and was believed to be hiking alone

The man found dead near the Maroon Bells on Saturday was from Tucson, the Pitkin County Coroner’s Office announced Monday morning.

Jeffrey Bushroe, 27, was found dead Saturday morning by another hiker near the Crater Lake. Bushroe sustained “several visible injuries to his head and leg,” the sheriff’s office said Saturday. He was found about 7 a.m. and believed to be hiking alone.

Officials have not released any more information.
