Mountain View Fire Rescue has inspected homes and found no hazards that would endanger residents near the site of an that, and injured three last week in Weld County.
An investigation into the explosion near Mead, which was sparked during maintenance on an Anadarko oil tank battery on May 25, is ongoing.
“Mountain View Fire checked the nearby homes and there was no indication of any hazards,” the department announced Wednesday. “We only did the nearby homes as the incident was confined to the site that the contractors were working.”
There are no hazards resulting from the accident that would endanger nearby residents, the fire district said. During the investigation following the explosion, ongoing air monitoring registered no signs of hazardous gases from the site.
Oscar Lopez Velasquez, 32, of Greeley, died in the explosion Thursday afternoon at a group of oil tanks near Colorado Highway 66 and Colorado Boulevard.
