Re: May 27 news story.
President Donald Trump’s overseas trip self-proclaimed home run ball actually landed in foul territory. At the NATO Summit, French President Emmanuel Macron gripped Trump’s hand very hard so that Macron could assert equality with the U.S. At the Group of Seven meeting, Trump refused commitment to the Paris climate change agreement; the other nations issued a separate statement, indicating their opinion that theU.S. is an unreliable partner. German Chancellor Merkel recently referred to Trump, indicating that the U.S. is no longer a reliable partner. Further offending Germany, he’ll “stop” German car sales because we import too many; Germans “are very, very bad.” Ignore that German car makers have invested in building U.S. plants with large employment, or that their cars sell well because we like them.
Trump has jeopardized the post-World War II stability; this could be disastrous. He may have had a hit in the Mideast, but his Europe at-bats were called strikeouts.

President Trump could strike out looking, and he’d say he hit a “home run.” And he’d believe it, too. SAD!
