Conduent, formerly Xerox, cuts 244 jobs at Highlands Ranch customer service facility

Xerox has been shaving Colorado employees in recent years

Conduent Inc., which earlier this year, has cut 244 jobs at its Highlands Ranch facility.

The bulk of the workers were employed as customer-care assistants and were “eliminated due to a change in business needs of a client,” according to documents filed with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment warning of the cuts.

The terminations will be completed by July 18.

In 2015, Xerox in the Highlands Ranch location.

But the companies have been shedding workers since then. Last July, it  at its Xerox State Healthcare facility in Aurora. In January, Conduent said it would and lay off 99 workers.

Norwalk, Conn.-based Xerox employed a total of 2,500 employees in Colorado in 2016.

The split left Xerox focusing on documents and Conduent, based in Florham, N.J., handling services and business processes.
