GRAND JUNCTION — Authorities say a man likely drowned after he jumped into a popular swimming spot in western Colorado.

The 35-year-old Bryan Reim, of Delta, was with friends and family when he jumped into a deep pool at the Escalante Potholes on Saturday.

Delta County Sheriff Fred McKee says searchers have not been able to find a body because the water is running so rapidly.

The swimming area is about 50 miles south of Grand Junction.
