Danilo Gallinari heads to Los Angeles in deal involving Nuggets, Clippers, Hawks

Denver would receive a 2019 second-round draft pick from Atlanta in the three-team deal

The Nuggets finished a sign-and-trade deal Tuesday that sends Gallinari to the for a second-round pick in 2019, according to a league source.

The late Monday night to send the 28-year-old forward to Los Angeles, according to multiple reports. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the story.

Gallinari’s deal is for three years and $65 million, according to ESPN.

Gallinari averaged 18.2 points and 5.2 rebounds in 63 games for the Nuggets last season. He spent parts of six seasons in Denver.

The Nuggets would receive a second-round draft pick in the deal while the Clippers would send to Atlanta in a move to clear space to sign Gallinari, ESPN reported.

The trade would mark the end in Denver for one of the Nuggets’ longest-tenured players. Gallinari joined the Nuggets in 2010, along with and others, in a trade that sent star Carmelo Anthony to the . In six seasons with Denver, Gallinari averaged 16.2 points while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from 3-point range.

While there were early reports that Paul Millsap — who agreed to a three-year, $90 million Sunday, a league source told the Denver Post — could be included in a sign-and-trade deal, which could have possibly opened up some cap space, Bobby Marks of ESPN reported that Millsap would join Denver through a free-agent signing. Millsap can officially sign with the Nuggets on Friday, when the NBA’s moratorium on free agents ends.
