A man who fired a gun into a crowd — killing one man and wounding two others — at an Adams County mobile home park was sentenced Friday to 26 years in prison.

Brandon Karr, 25, was sentenced after being of one count of second-degree murder heat of passion, nine counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree assault, according to the Adams County District Attorney’s Office.

Karr was sentenced for an Aug. 16 shooting death of Edgar Loera Munoz, 30, at the Berkley Village Mobile Home Park, 5400 Sheridan Blvd., a DA’s news release said.

Karr fired from a vehicle into a crowd as he and a group friends drove away after a confrontation with residents. Evidence showed that Karr and companions drove to Berkeley Village to provoke a fight.

Rojelio Heredia, 25, who was hosting a party, fired warning shots into the air after Karr and his friends attacked a woman. As Karr’s group fled, Karr fired the fatal shots.

Heredia , hitting Dustin Karr, who would now be 23. Dustin Karr, Brandon’s cousin, was fatally shot. Heredia was sentenced on June 26 to 10 years in prison.

Both Karr and Heredia “inserted themselves into someone else’s fight. They both brought a gun to a fistfight and indiscriminately shot at other people,” said Adams County District Judge Ted Tow.
