, pitcher?
The Rockies’ all-star outfielder shared his path from transitioning from an “ineffective” Division I pitcher to becoming a second-round pick with the Rockies, on released Monday.
“Looking back, I’m glad that my path kind of changed from pitching to hitting,” Blackmon says in the video. “That really enabled me to go to the next level and go to the big leagues.”
Blackmon, who said he “wasn’t very strong or fast” when he was younger, earned his second All-Star appearance. He is hitting .319 with 20 home runs, and he leads the National League in hits (117) and triples (10).
