The Denver metro area should cool down slightly following Friday’s high of 91 degrees, giving people a break before temperatures heat back up next week.

Saturday’s high should be in the lower to mid-80s, National Weather Service spokesman Jim Kalina said. There’s a 10-20 percent chance of showers with the greatest likelihood in southeastern Denver, he said. The nighttime low is expected to be in the 50s.

Sunday should have a high in the mid- to upper 80s, cooling down to the lower to mid-60s at night, Kalina said. There is a 10 percent chance Ǵthunderstorms in the afternoon.

Next week should be back in the 90s with a 10-20 percent chance of rain in the beginning of the week, ramping up to 30 percent by Thursday.
