Firefighters answering an early-morning call Wednesday to a Colorado Springs apartment complex about a car fire also discovered a man on fire.
The man, who was described as being in his mid- to late 20s, suffered severe burns and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to a Colorado Springs police report by officers in the Stetson Hills Division.
The car fire was reported at 2:07 a.m. on the 3600 block of Van Teylingen Drive. Rescuers extinguished the blaze and rushed him to an area hospital, the police report says.
Detectives are investigating the scene to determine if there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
