Police arrested a man in Colorado Springs in connection with an Aurora homicide, where another man was shot to death and left on a sidewalk over the weekend, law enforcement announced Monday.

Armanni Woods, a 31-year-old from Colorado Springs, was arrested by the Aurora Police Department’s fugitive unit and the Colorado Springs Police Department’s SWAT team, police said in a Monday afternoon update. Police officials did not specify the charges under investigation.

The arrest stems from a fatal shooting first discovered shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sunday, near East Warren Avenue and South Galena Street in west Aurora. Investigators believe the victim, a 49-year-old man who has not yet been publicly identified, was shot hours earlier, police said.

The man who was shot will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
