The Denver City Council is considering whether to approve a massive music festival that would be held at the Overland Park Golf Course in southwest Denver over the next five years.

Regarding the proposed music festival at Overland Park Golf Course, I say bring it on! I am 72 years old and live on that golf course, facing the back of where the main stage is being planned.

I passionately support the festival, as do many of my neighbors. Yes, we will be disrupted for a couple of days, but it’s a small price to pay for all the potential benefits.

Let’s not sell out to fear of change by all the misinformation, bias and scare tactics being spread. Evidence-based reality still matters in these days of hyper-polarization. Let’s look carefully at the details of what’s proposed, and the plans for making it a success, before we throw such gifts to our city away.

Attend one of the free concerts at the new Levitt Pavilion on nearby Ruby Hill to get a sense of what’s possible with the right intentions. My wife and I have with our neighbors, and it’s magical. Let’s have more music, cultural celebration, dancing and joy!
