Lakewood police are looking for the driver of a white four-door sedan that was involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed an elderly man last week.

The victim, who hasn’t been identified, was walking on South Wadsworth Boulevard about 12:27 p.m.Friday just north of Florida Avenue when the vehicle pulled out of a gas station and struck him.

“We assume the driver didn’t see him when looking over their shoulder as they were pulling into traffic,” said Ty Countryman, a Lakewood police spokesman.

The driver is believed to have been an Asian or Latina woman in her 20s or 30s whose dark hair has light streaks in it.

The car is believed to be a white four-door sedan with a horizontal strip of black door trim.

The Colorado license plate has a green background and white lettering, Countryman said.

The vehicle headed east on Florida Avenue.

Anyone with information should call Lakewood Police at 303-987-7111 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
