was one of the stars of camp last summer, harassing Denver’s quarterbacks with one interception after another, plays that would quickly turn into a possible touchdowns the other way.

Doss was at it again Sunday, intercepting a pass from and one from , the latter coming on the final play of practice. Doss ended his day by crossing the goal line.

“I always tell him he’s a four-leaf clover,” defensive coordinator said. “For whatever reasons, when he’s in the game he’s always around the football. He’s a very instinctive player. Coming out of Tulane, he had (15) picks. When you see him, he’s always around the ball.”

The question for Doss is whether he can turn another strong start to training camp into a key role as the Broncos’ fourth cornerback, behind , and .

Doss, a fifth-round pick by the Broncos in the 2015 draft, played in six games each of the last two seasons. He deflected two passes in limited playing time last year.

The departure of , who signed with the Los Angeles Rams as a free agent, has opened a door for Doss.

“This is where it starts,” Doss said. “Just listening to Coach Woods, listening to (defensive backs coach ) and (assistant defensive backs coach ), when the opportunity presents itself, you have to make the play.”

Injury report

Running backs De’Angelo Henderson and and offensive tackle were held out of practice Sunday.

Henderson and Stephenson were nursing minor ankle injuries. Head coach said they could have participated in practice but that the team was exercising caution.

Charles was given a rest day.

Ron Leary walked off the field for the second time in as many practices, though Sunday the guard didn’t return to action.

“Ron Leary is OK,” Joseph said. “He had a little groin thing (Saturday). We pulled him out just to be smart. We didn’t want it to get worse. But he’s fine. We’ll see if he goes tomorrow, but it’s not serious. We’re just trying to stay ahead of the curve.”

Record crowd

The Broncos on Sunday drew their biggest crowd — 6,101 fans 鈥� in the 15 years they have conducted training camp at Dove Valley.

鈥淪hout out to 抖阴apountry,” defensive tackle Domata Peko said of the fans earlier in camp. “They鈥檙e out here cheering for us, and that抖阴ap why we play the game. We play for them.鈥�
