Colorado Springs have responded to a shooting at a townhouse complex with at least two victims.

The incident is in the 3800 block of Village Road South, according to a police department Twitter post. The area is just east of Palmer Park.

A TV station in Colorado Springs, KRDO Channel 13, reports with at least two people wounded.

Officers have taken fire from a suspect at a townhouse complex in the area.

Shortly after 10 p.m., police said they used a reverse 911 call to area residents: “There is an active shooter situation in your area. All citizens in the area of Academy and Village Road South are asked to remain indoors and shelter in place until further notice.”

Academy Boulevard was closed in the area from N. Carefree Circle south to Maizeland Road.
