Sen. Cory Gardner faced a hostile crowd in Durango that was not happy with his stance on health care. When confronted as to why he voted for the Republican health care bill even though the vast majority of his constituents opposed it, Gardner replied that when he ran for Congress seven years ago, he vowed to repeal and replace Obamacare. His response is absurd.
First of all, Gardner now represents all of Colorado as a senator. Second of all, where’s the replacement? I recently received an email from Gardner that stated it was now time to work on a bipartisan plan for health care. So? Where is it, Senator? Oh, you must be waiting for Mitch McConnell to tell you what to do, because you sure don’t listen to your constituents.

It used to be that Americans prided themselves on being self-reliant, taking care of their own, and having personal responsibility. Now, for many, itap all a scrum to get as many government subsides as possible for health care, etc.
These activists seem to have forgotten JFK famous challenge 56 years ago: “Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.” I can only be thankful that there is still a number of people who are hesitant to take government handouts and work hard so as to not burden their fellow citizens.
Secondly, many who attended Sen. Cory Gardner’s meeting were not interested in hearing different opinions. Rather, they were there to shout down any who disagreed with them. Incredibly, these same people want more public meetings so they can not listen again (go figure).
