Interesting article about the Brown Palace Hotel by Graham Ambrose.It brought back memories of 65 years ago and my wedding day, June 8, 1952. My husband-to-be was serving in the Air Force in New Jersey and had come to Denver for our wedding.I’m an incurable romantic and I had booked the bridal suite at the Brown Palace in February 1952 for our honeymoon night.Arriving at the hotel after the wedding and reception, we were so disappointed to learn that we would not be staying in the bridal suite, as the couple who stayed there the night before wanted to stay there again.
Just as a side note: The total bill was $16.65, with two restaurant charges. The room, No. 441, was $11.
