The cause of the fire is under investigation.A barn in Parker went up in flames Thursday afternoon, setting off a plume of thick black smoke.
The fire sparked about 5:40 p.m. in the area of Hess and Parker roads, according to the South Metro Fire Rescue Authority.
King Court closed west of Motsebocker for barn fire.

Firefighters kept the flames from spreading to nearby homes, but the barn was a complete loss. There were no injuries.
