A person was shot in Sunday evening and the is investigating.
Deputies responded to the popular, 4,200-acre park, located south of the Interstate 225-Parker Road interchange, at 7:20 p.m. to assist Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials in responding to a shooting, according to Arapahoe County sheriff’s spokeswoman Julie Brooks.

The shooting took place near the park’s west boat ramp, north of East Union Avenue entrance, according to the sheriff’s office. It is unclear what led up to the violence.
An unidentified adult was transported to an area hospital. That person’s condition was not made public Sunday night.
The sheriff’s office has taken the lead on the investigation. All entrances to the state park were closed while the investigation was ongoing, . People were allowed to leave the park.
No suspect information has been made public, but the department reported Sunday night that a person fled the scene on foot and was not believed to be a further threat to the community.
