Authorities have arrested a 29-year-old man in the at Cherry Creek State Park on Sunday.
Joseph Wayne Washington has been arrested for investigation of first-degree murder in the
Washington allegedly shot Chavez at about 7:20 p.m. near the west boat ramp inside the park.
Aurora police and agents from Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force assisted in the arrest of Washington.
