Temperatures rising, weather acting more like summer in Denver

It’s warming up in Denver, at least through the weekend.

The high on Thursday is expected to reach 85 degrees, which is 9 degrees higher than Wednesday’s high of 76.

There is a chance of a few severe storms on the Eastern plains, with one-inch hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph, the NWS says.

On Thursday, there is a 10 percent chance thunderstorms and rain, mostly after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

It gets warmer on Friday, with a high of 87 and even hotter on Saturday, with a high of 89. By Sunday, temperatures will peak at about 90 degrees, according to the NWS.

There’s a 20 percent chance for afternoon rain showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and a 10 percent chance for storms on Sunday.

Temperatures during the first half of the work week beginning Monday will in the mid-to-upper 80s. Each night there will be a slight chance for rain and thunderstorms, forecasters say.
