Party guests stole more than $14,000 in items from the home

Not-so-warm housewarming. A married couple hosted a housewarming party at their new home June 30 in the 17000 block of East 107th Way, Commerce City. Because friends and family invited other guests, they did not know everyone at the party well. The next day, they realized more than $14,000 in items was missing, including several Apple products, diamond jewelry and a Louis Vuitton purse.

Scar(ed)y Cat. Police responded to a vicious animal call July 6 in the 6000 block of State Highway 2, Commerce City. A woman said she was locked in her bathroom after her cat latched on, biting and cutting both her arms. Officers caught the cat, which the woman surrendered to Adams County Animal Shelter, recommending they euthanize the animal. Ten days later, shelter staff reported no more aggressive behavior by the cat.

Bar fight.Employees atThirsty’s Sports Bar, 1294 E. 104th Ave.,Thornton, kicked out a woman after she started a fight inside at nearly midnight. She remained outside the bar yelling and flipping off other female customers inside until staff called 911. The woman then drove away and repeatedly called Thirsty’s to threaten a female bartender. Thornton Police tracked down the woman the next morning and charged her with harassment and disorderly conduct.

Used car theft. An employee at Friendly Auto Sales,9270 N. Federal Blvd., Federal Heights, was selling a used vehicle to a man on July 7. After he walked into his office to prepare paperwork for the sale, the employee noticed the potential buyer drove the car off the lot in an unknown direction. Adams County Sheriff’s Office recovered the vehicle the next day.
