A risky runner. During a routine patrol in the area of West 53rd Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard on Aug. 24, Arvada police noticed a woman stop her car in the middle of the road, exit the vehicle and run through three lanes of active traffic. When officers contacted the woman she gave them a false name. According to a police report, they found credit cards, checks and prescription bottles belonging to other people, a counterfeit $50 bill, a meth pipe and approximately 50 syringes in her purse.

Easy admission. On Aug. 24, an Arvada police officer was called to the 5200 block of Vance Street where several security alarms were going off inside a building. According to a police report, the cleaning crew on scene told the officer the commotion was the result of the alarm company’s error and everything was fine. While speaking with the cleaning crew, the officer noticed a man across the street yelling at passing vehicles. When contacted, the man allegedly said he was yelling at cars because he was “pretty drunk” and had consumed “almost an entire bottle.” The man was under a protection order that prohibited him from drinking alcohol. He was taken into custody.

Fourth time’s the charm. On Aug. 26 at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the 5900 block of Flower Street, Arvada, because of a noise complaint. According to a police report, about 70 people were drinking and watching a boxing match on a projector on the lawn. The officer told them they could finish watching the match but needed to go inside and quiet down when it was over. In the span of five hours, the officer returned three times with warnings. On his fourth visit, he issued a citation.
