Prosecutors charge suspect in fatal hit-and-run near Coors Field with vehicular homicide

An anonymous party called Denver police and told them Adrian Escalante was the driver

Denver prosecutors have charged the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run near Coors Field last month with leaving the scene of an accident and vehicular homicide.

Adrian Escalante, 28, allegedly was speeding when struck in the intersection of 20th and Blake Streets on Aug. 26, officials say.

Glade, who was hit by a black Range Rover, . Escalante allegedly fled, triggering a metro area traffic alert for the vehicle’s whereabouts. A Crime Stoppers bulletin also was issued.

On Sept. 8, an anonymous party called Denver police and told them Escalante was the driver of the black Land Rover, which was identified from video taken by a witness as it left the scene, according to a probable cause statement.

Escalante was arrested on Sept. 9 outside his Aurora home.

Police have still not recovered the Range Rover, and continue to look for on surveillance video made at Mynt Mojito on the night of the crash.

“We would like to have a conversation with them,” said police spokesman John White.

The DA’s office filed charges against Escalante on Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear Sept. 27 in Denver County Court.
