U.S. Senate panel to debate nomination of Allison Eid next week to fill old job of Neil Gorsuch

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee will consider the nomination of Colorado Supreme Court Justice Allison Eid to the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. If confirmed, she would fill the spot opened by the ascension of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Aides to U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., said her hearing is scheduled for Sept. 20; the committee’s calendar shows .

Staff to U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet confirmed that the Colorado Democrat last week had returned a so-called “blue slip” on her nomination, a procedural hurdle that sometimes can be used to block or stall nominations.
