An online donation fund has been opened for a family that’s grieving for the deaths of a 5-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy, while their mentally ill teen faces murder charges in the children’s death.
“This is beyond heartbreaking! The family is coping the best way they can which is holding on to their faith! They will desperately be in need of our support via prayers and donations to properly send their two babies away,” .
Malik Vincent Murphy, 19, in the deaths of 7-year-old Noah and 5-year-old Sophia. He also allegedly stabbed his father, Jefferson “Vinnie” Murphy, 42.
Malik Murphy told police he had so he could be alone in the house, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Brown noted that Malik Murphy had been suffering from mental illness, depression, and thoughts of suicide. He had been doing better recently and planned to return to community college.
On Monday, the day before the stabbings, the family happily played football together in the yard, Brown wrote.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the fund had raised $7,863 of a goal of $30,000.
