Zachary Paul Wirth, 22, has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault, careless driving resulting in injury and DUI-drugs, according to court records.

According to an affidavit, Wirth was driving a Ford Crown Victoria north on 28th Street at 3:30 p.m. Thursday when he crossed over the median near Arapahoe Avenue and struck a motorcyclist, Timothy McLemore, who was headed south in the opposite lanes.

Wirth then corrected and hit the median again before coming to rest in the northbound lanes.

McLemore was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

Police said McLemore’s 1975 BMW R75 also hit another car during the collision, but there were no other injuries in the crash.
