I’m not sure that Aloy Thai fits into the category of diner, drive-in or dive, but what does Guy Fieri care? He features the Boulder restaurant — which, for the record, is quite lovely and not at all dive-ish — on his “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” show airing Friday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. on the Food Network.

“The filming was interesting. It was really fast-paced,” Aloy manager Chantal Johnson said. “Everyone was really friendly and made it feel natural. He (Fieri) was a cool guy. It was really exciting for him to be in here. He tried the food, he was really ecstatic, he was a lot of fun on-set and he interacted really well with the people we brought in.”

For the mid-September filming, Aloy closed to the public but brought in regulars, friends and family to taste the dishes they made for Fieri. (Lemongrass Chicken and Khao Soi — a northern Thai-style noodle soup with red curry broth — in case it’s your life’s mission to eat as Fieri does.)

“We tried to get all the people who eat here every single week who know a lot about the food. We wanted to hold true to our story,” Johnson said.

If watching all that delicious Thai food makes you hungry, head to the restaurant for a viewing party on the 17th from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and will get you a beer, appetizer, entr—e and the chance to see your favorite Thai restaurant yuck it up with Fieri.
