Darren Ross HoffmanThornton police have arrested a 22-year-old man for investigation of attempted first-degree murder after the suspect allegedly fired several gunshots at police Monday morning.
Police were able to convince Darren Ross Hoffman to surrender, according to a news release by Thornton police spokesman Matt Barnes.
Police responded to a call at 5:02 a.m. of an unidentified man pounding on the windows and doors of a home on the 1800 block of Rowena Street and screaming loudly, the news release says.
As two officers approached the suspect, he allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired multiple rounds at the officers.
The officers, who did not fire their guns, were not injured, Barnes said.
