Re: “,” Nov. 21 news story.
Sen. Cory Gardner received boos and jeers at his town hall in Pueblo while attempting to defend Republican efforts to rewrite the tax code. He then reminded folks that Donald Trump won the popular vote in Pueblo County. That was a year ago. Since then Trump has equated white racists with those who oppose them, threatened nuclear war with North Korea, sent daily juvenile, name-calling tweets, used his office for free advertisements for his properties, defended electing a child predator to the Senate, etc, etc. Maybe those sounds of disapproval echo the realization of just what those votes have visited upon our country.
Gardner also reminded the audience that President Barack Obama wanted to cut taxes. He did. He wanted to extend the Bush tax cuts and unemployment benefits. He cut payroll taxes, putting money in people’s pockets, and extended a college tuition tax credit. Much different than whatap on the table in the Senate now.
