Merril Matthews gives another hypocritical right-wing critique of electric vehicles. He complains about government subsidies for EVs while ignoring the far more massive subsidies for fossil-fuel vehicles.
What do we Americans want? We want great cars and trucks. The most efficient technology is electric. They are fun to drive, quiet, cheaper in the long term, with less to repair. It will take time to build the infrastructure, but itap happening. As more people drive EVs, upfront costs will sink lower than fossil-fuel vehicles. At one time we invested in fossil fuels because that was the best technology at the time; now we want to invest in EVs. We citizens like that. We also want a livable planet.
As so-called “conservatives” continue to support dirty energy over healthy, clean energy, it just seems that they support their monied friends rather than insist on real “free markets.”
