A northern Colorado man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a child.

Terrence Paul Triffet, 54, of Loveland, is suspected of sexually assaulting a Fort Collins child over the course of several years, according to a Fort Collins Police Department news release.

Triffet was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sex assault on a child, sex assault on a child pattern of abuse and distribution of a child exploitative material, among other charges, police said.

Triffet previously resided in Longmont, where he was a host of foreign exchange students.
