Northglenn police officers shot and killed one suspect and injured a second early Wednesday morning when one of the suspects drove a stolen car directly at police, authorities say.

The names of the two suspects have not been released.

One was pronounced dead at the scene on the 10400 block of Franklin Way. The second was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Northglenn police spotted a stolen vehicle and after establishing contact, one of the two suspects in the car accelerated toward the officers.

At that point the officers fired their guns at the two suspects, hitting both of them.

The Adams County Shoot team is investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
