John Hickenlooper appoints judge to fill vacancy on Colorado’s second-highest court

Gov. John Hickenlooper has appointed an Adams County district judge to fill a vacancy on the Colorado Court of Appeals, the state’s second-highest court.

is currently a judge in the 17th Judicial District, a position he has held since 2010 when he appointed by then-Gov. Bill Ritter and in which he handles matters ranging from criminal to appeals cases and municipal and county court cases.

Tow will fill the seat of Dennis A. Graham as he retires from l.

Tow has served as the executive director of the Colorado District Attorneys’ Council, and was a senior deputy district attorney in Adams County. He was also once an associate at the Denver branch of the law firm Sherman and Howard.

Also last week, University of Colorado Boulder to the seven-member Colorado Supreme Court.

Tow’s appointment is effective Feb. 12, 2018, according to the governor’s office.
